Seeds of Change Exhibition

Each person has the potential to change the world for the better, and eaSeeds of change exhibition Italy 2003ch person's actions count. This is the message of the "Seeds of Change--the Earth Charter and Human Potential" exhibition.  The exhibition, a collaboration between the SGI and The Earth Charter Initiative, introduces the Earth Charter as a "blueprint" for envisioning a sustainable world and taking action toward that vision, and also promotes the upcoming UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.

 A Quiet Revolution Film

This 30-minute documentary stresses the interconnectedness of people today
and includes interviews with individuals who have initiated grass-roots
movements in India, Slovakia and Kenya. Their examples inspire us to to
reflect on how we are improving the quality of our lives and our environment.

Speakers

The QLD Earth Charter committee is always delighted to have the opportunity to discuss the Earth Charter.

  • The Festival of Philosophy, Science and Theology took place in Grafton, Australia in June 2003, a wonderful event with a very positive response to the Earth Charter component.  Noel Preston and Suzanne Davies from the QLD Earth Charter Committee in Brisbane attended, presenting a concurrent Earth Charter talk and workshop respectively.
  • Clem Campbell spoke at the Cubberla-Witton Catchment Network meeting in Brisbane and travelled to Monto in rural Queensland 
  • In conjunction with Brink expedition activities the members have attended the QLD Catholic Education resourcing SOSE day and spoken to individual class groups about the Earth Charter
